great pictures Jason! It was great meeting you and the others I had not met yet!!!!!!!!!!! It was great seeing old friends again also.

Tween-the-flyways had the only digital in our group the first day so we will have to wait for them to get home or me to get to wal mart to get my disposable developed.

Coastal Ducks and his bud Butch put us in the middle of them Friday with huge flocks low to shoot at also in a dry field.

I dont care what the HBB's say about Coastal Ducks, he is alright in my book.

We ended up with at least 60 snows, blues, ross, specs.

the second day after the deluge, it was totaly different, mostly high shots and singles doubles and a few with 5. I dont think we got to shoot at a big flock the second day. It was definitly a good shoot tho with 75 birds. I reckin if you throw enough steel up there something is bound to come down!

The bbq Friday night was awesome with all the sausage, backstrap, duck, goose, tater salad, apple pie, dirtyrice and alligator meat that the Refuge gang brought. There was enough food left to feed everyone for another day!!!!!!!!!!!

The HBB's were very well behaved the whole time!

Im looking forward to the next Refuge Gang gettogether already.

Too bad David and Chester and the others had to miss.

sure was fun!

I had another AWESOME time. Got to see old friends & meet some new ones and put faces on em. The Friday nite cook-out was great. I never knew that you could ever make sausage out of so many species of game. The food was all good! That fried gator was fantastic, along with those goose fingers.

The 2001 Gang Hunt had great duck hunting in the Bays & slow goose hunting, but this yr's trip was the opposite. We saw thousands of pinnies & reds, but that was about it. Once you shot your 1 pintail, you had to wait & hope something else came by. The goose hunting was un-believable! From shotting time till we picked up, they came in waves after waves. We'd shoot at a small group & a lot of times the survivors would circle & come back. I personally shot 3 1/2 boxes of shells!

Once I learn how to shrink pics. I'll post what limbshot downloaded on my puter & post em. (I might haveta give skank a call). I took a bunch with a disposable & gonna get them developed today & see what I can do with them.

The only verbage I can find to accurately described the weekends event would be the TheRefuge Gang HUnt 2003 was an Epic event.

To all those I met for the first time,
Oxbow, AQ, Duck Lorange, Quackinator, half breed CD, Buttershot, MBDux, Prime, limbshot, Drakke2324, Bowie, Drake, Thib, Jpac, dang, theres a bunch and I have missed a hand full as well, it was real pleasure meeting al of you.

I dont know that there are words to desciribe the feeling when the sky fills with geese to the pnt that layer upon later moves independently and flocks inside the flock traveling different directions can make the observer dizzy.
Not to mention the sound.

Although I can desribe a canadian gettin SKACKED.

It goes like this," damn howd they get out of here".

"WAIT WAIT there swinging back right on the deck, hurry get loaded,

at about 30 miles an hour twenty feet off the deck two canadians on a suicide run hed into deaths doorway and are greeted by wall of heavyshot #2 thrown out of a 3.5 inch cartridge, and POOOOOOF grey feathers floating..

SKACK, SKACKED that fella for sure.
all at about twenty yards nonetheless.

Thanks to Bay Prarie and all the folks that keep it running.

Good to meet you Half Breed and your trusty sidekick txduckcaller.....had a good time talkin' with you fellas.

Yes sir the food was absolutely awesome.....the gator, teh several different types of sausage, Gary's duck and goose fingers and some apple pie that would make you slap yo momma. Mix all that with some Crown and Coke and some good friends (minus the rain ) and it was a helluva time.

Prime email me your pics that you want to shrink and I'll post them today......... smartall@airmail.net

Also pretty disappointed we didn't get to meet David and Chester to thank them personally for their effort on this site. Was looking forward to that.

Great pic Auto......was that mottled a drake or hen?

Was that before or after the rattlesnake? If we could see Gary's backside we could probably tell....

Old Skack is a good fella. I don't care what anybody says. It was a pleasure meeting him. Even if he was banned to the snorers room! LOL!

Got to meet several new folks and see a lot of people I had wanted to meet up with again. Definitely going to have a good time whenever you get this bunch all in one place.

The first days goose hunt with a total of 60+/- geese was an awesome hunt for a group of 7. Those birds got right in the kill zone, and got mauled. It was a blast.

Second day was a goose shoot. We took 75 or so geese between a group of 12. Like HB said, nothing can do too well against a mile high wall of steel.

What can a guy say about the cook out? AWESOME! Never ate so many kinds of wild game at one time! I think I'm gonna have to head up north and have Gmann teach me how to cook those goose strips.

Looking forward to the next Refuge Hunt and seeing all my 'net buds old and new again!

Made it--finally. Nearly 2000 miles round trip, but it was worth it. My son and I enjoyed meeting y'all, and had a great time on our first snow goose hunt. It definately helped to have seasoned snow goose hunters like Half-Breed along, to lobby the guides to call the damn shot.

Here's our group from the first day, Friday.

The infamous MSDuckmen (Dan) preaching to whoever would listen about the benefits of hunting with a spinner, water-swattin' and shootin' divers.....

Funny thing is he had to hunt over a spinner on his duck hunt.
